Having missed a lot of international cricket this year due to personal problems, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s Test wicketkeeper, Brad Haddin, is now keen to regain his Test place during the forthcoming Test series against South Africa at home.
The two cricketing giants will take on each other for a three-match Test series, starting on November, 9, 2012, at Brisbane. The battle provides Australia a huge opportunity to regain some pride in international cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 being the world’s number one ranked Test side.
The 34-year-old wicketkeeper/batsman had to fly back home before the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854 has been doing the job behind the stumps for Australia since then.
Haddin is confident about regaining his place in the five-day format and is focussed to maintain his form and fitness, instead of worrying about selection.
"Selection is the easy part, if you're performing well there's no topic of conversation about it, and if you're not performing the way you should then it's open for debate," Haddin said. "From that point of view my mindset is the same as when I started playing, I've just got to make sure I'm in the best possible space I can be as a cricketer, and everything else takes care of itself.”
The seasoned cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 has started the current Sheffield Shield season brilliantly and has looked in sublime touch with the bat as well as with the gloves, grabbing four victims and scoring a ton in his last first-class game against Tasmania.
Haddin was under the scanner in 2011 for his lacklustre performance behind the stumps and for not being consistent with the bat as well. However, the attacking batsman wants to answer his critics through on-field performances.
"But the bottom line is cricket's about performance and that's what you've got to do, you've got to make sure you do your pre-season," he added.
The New South Welshman has so far represented the Baggy Greens in 43 Tests, 93 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 25 T20s, having already scored five centuries and 25 fifties.
