The Australian vice captain, Brad Haddin, on Sunday declared that his side has identified the weak areas of the Indian side, and they would look to exploit those weaknesses during the four-match Test series.
"We know where their strengths are but we also know there are areas we can get the game moving forward and develop the game as quick as we like," said Haddin while speaking to the media reporters ahead of the Test series opener in Melbourne.
India has not won a series against Australia on Australian soil over the past six decades and Haddin hopes it will be on the mind of the visitors when they take the field.
"I hope so,” said Haddin when asked whether the record would bog down the tourists. “It's definitely a different place to play cricket for the Indians. But it's not as foreign anymore. It's like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 going to India. We are pretty much used to the conditions
now because you spend so much time there,” he added further.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 cricketer conceded that the Indian batting line-up has some great names and it would be a real challenge for the Australian bowlers to get them out cheaply during the series.
There have been talks that the new look top order of Australia might struggle against the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566, but Haddin insists that they have a top three that is in a rich vein of form. He further added that it is not up to the top-order
or middle-order only to score runs but all the seven batsmen in the line-up would have to give their absolute best if they are to extend their unbeaten streak against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at home.
“I think we've got a very in-form top three which is good,” said Haddin. “If we are going to do any good in this series, it's going to be from one to seven with the bat, we've all got to perform,” he added further.
The first Test of the four-match series is underway in Melbourne where the hosts have opted to bat first after winning the toss.
