Brad Hodge to lead Australia at Hong Kong Sixes – Cricket News Update
Cricket Australia on Wednesday named its seven-man squad for this year’s Hong Kong Sixes tournament later this month. Former top order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brad-Hodge-c1184 will lead the side in the two-day fast-paced cricketing event.
"Hodge, one of the top batsmen in last season's inaugural KFC T20 Big Bash League, will lead a selection of explosive Australian cricketers in the two-day tournament," Cricket Australia said in a statement.
Cricket Australia’s National Talent Manager http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gregory-Stephen-Chappell-c60820 picked up the squad, in consultation with the CA’s National Selection Panel.
Chappell said that they have picked up a good mix of youth and experience for the two-day tournament and hoped Hodge’s presence in the squad will help the youngsters.

The 37-year-old Victorian batsman, who played six Tests and 25 One Day Internationals for the mighty Aussies during his three-year-long international career, spanning 2005-08, was excited at wearing Australian colours after a long time.
"I'm excited about the tournament, especially because it's been a long time since I've put on the Australian colours," said the right-handed top-order batsman while speaking to media reporters after being appointed as the skipper and coach of the seven-man squad.
"I'll be taking on a bit of a mentoring role as coach and captain and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the guys, particularly with someone like Meyrick Buchanan (19), who's still only a teenager but has been very impressive so far," Hodge added further.
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is an international cricket tournament, held annually at the Kowloon Cricket Club. Initially 10 teams used to compete in the event, but since 2011 the number of teams has been increased to 12. The latest edition of the tournament will be held at the same Kowloon Cricket Club from October 27 to 28.
According to the tournament rules each team fields six players. Each game consists of five six-ball overs, and every player except wicketkeeper bowls an over, hence the format suits all-rounders. The number of balls in each over is increased to eight in the finals.
