Veteran Perth Scorchers’ spinner, Brad Hogg, is looking forward to the upcoming clash against Melbourne Stars, terming it to be a big test for his side.
“The Melbourne Stars have probably got the most expensive line-up going around at the present moment, so it’s going to be a very big test for us.”
After finishing runners-up in the opening season, the Scorchers, made a disappointing start in the second season after going down to Adelaide Strikers at their home ground in Perth.
Opting to bat first, the Scorchers stuttered initially following the loss of two key wickets in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Voges-c925 leading the way by scoring commendable half-centuries.
However, they failed to control the run flow of the Strikers, which cruised to victory in 19.2 overs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377, top-scored for his side with a match-winning knock of 74.
With their next opponents also losing out to rivals Melbourne Renegades, it setup for an entertaining encounter.  http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, the Stars captain, had an uneventful time with the ball upon his return to the field of cricket where he leaked a whopping 41 runs in two overs as his side went down by comprehensive an 8-wicket margin.
Hogg further added that one cannot think too much into that, referring to the nature of T20 cricket which makes things considerably tough for bowlers.
"Every now and then, you are going to get met. It's just the nature of the game," Hogg said.
“An over can quickly turn the game around, as we saw what the Adelaide Strikers did here,” Hogg said. “As we’ve seen, if batsmen get themselves in they make big scores and score quickly and I thought Phil Hughes batted extremely well.”
As for the team news for the game, it is expected that the Scorchers will welcome back their former skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-North-c1982, who is likely to replace of the injured Shaun Marsh at the top of the order.
