Brad Kennedy, Tony McNaughton and Luke Hickmott takes the clubhouse lead at WA PGA Championship

The second round of the WA PGA Championship wrapped up on par-72 Bunbury Golf Club in Western Australia. Brad Kennedy, Tony McNaughton and Luke Hickmott surged into an early lead after smashing a round of 8-under-par.
Luke teed off from the front nine and picked up a magnificent eagle on the second hole of the course. On his way to the back nine, the player carded two birdies at the 11th and the 17th against a bogey at
the 12th. Despite all efforts the leader could not match his first days score. Luke carded 66 with the help of eight birdies on Thursday and notched the lead with Stephen Dartnall.
On the other hand, Kennedy who secured 67 in the first round birdied the three opening holes of the second round to take an edge over the leader. However, he could not keep up with his pace and sandwiched one more birdie between
two bogeys. The game took a U-turn after the 6th hole and Kennedy dropped two more shots in the back nine. However, on his way to the club house, the Aussie smashed three consecutive birdies at the closing holes and wrapped the day with a three-under-69.
In the fourth place was a group of five players; Matthew Griffin, Stephen Dartnall, Steven Jones, Michael Foster and Darren Tan. The lowest score out of five was carded by Foster, who picked up eight birdies to level head with
the rest. However, the lowest score of the day was posted by Tony McNaughton. The player made a 65, while most of the field failed to reach the par. Olsen Matthew performed the opposite and carded the highest score of the tournament; 89. Olsen picked up eight
bogeys and equal double-bogeys to create such a score-card.
The only Japanese in the tournament failed to comprehend the course and carded 13-over in the second round. Keitaro Take faltered even more in the second round despite the pleasant weather conditions. He made a 77 in the first
round when the rain created the overall challenge considerably tougher.
Brad Kennedy, Tony McNaughton and Luke Hickmott have stepped into the third round of the WA PGA Championship with a score of 8-under-par.
