Brad Keselowski excited for Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway – NASCAR news
Brad Keselowski was disappointed with his result in Dover but is now looking forward to the Hollywood Casino 400 at the Kansas Speedway and says that the track has a special place in his heart.
Keselowski finished a disappointing 20th in the AAA 400 at the Dover International Speedway. Keselowski felt that they had a very good car for Dover and if the power steering issue had not come up, he could have had a good finish.
Despite the power steering issue, Keselowski felt he could have finished in the top 10 if some of the cautions had gone his way. Therefore, he was disappointed with the way everything turned out on the track for him.
Keselowski is now looking ahead to this weekend’s race at Kansas. He won the race STP 400 at Kansas earlier in the season. Before winning at Kansas, Keselowski had just one top-10 finish in 12 races and had very little hopes of qualifying for the chase.
His victory at Kansas changed all that and spurred him on to a run of 11 top-10s in 17 races, including seven top-fives and 2 wins.
Keselowski currently lies in 6th place in the Chase, with just 14 points separating him and the leaders Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards.
Keselowski knows that winning at Kansas was a big moment in the season for him and the win brought him back into contention for the Chase.
“That win at Kansas was special because we knew we were doing the right things to be successful,” said Keselowski. “Winning at Kansas was a validation, of sorts, and it was definitely the catalyst for what we were able to accomplish as the summer months
wore on.”
Keselowski is confident that they can revive their stuttering Chase challenge with another victory at Kansas as he aims for his first Sprint Cup title.
“We won the race [Kansas] on fuel mileage, but we had a very fast car throughout the race. We ran in the top 10 most of the day,” Keselowski said. “With a fast Miller Lite Dodge and good fuel mileage, I'm confident about our chances this weekend.”
The qualifying for the Hollywood Casino 400 is set to be on Friday, October 7, 2011 with the race scheduled for Sunday, October 9.
