Branden Grace flying high in Dubai – DP World Tour Championship
Branden Grace’s good year continued as the DP World Tour Championship came to an end.
Grace had been playing some excellent golf throughout the year. After winning four titles on the European Tour, the South African was high on confidence as he came into the tournament.
He played a magnificent second round, which put him alongside the top contenders of the tournament.
The African’s final day started off with a bogey. He managed to finish the first hole in five shots but carded a birdie on the second hole.
On the 4th hole, he made another bogey but followed it up with a birdie. The next four holes were par. Coming out of the drought, the South African produced two birdies on the 10th and the 11th hole.
Grace, consequently, made two birdies on the 14th and the last hole of the tournament. He carded a four-under par round on Sunday, which made his total score -16 to par.
With top golfers from the European Tour playing alongside the South African, he produced some excellent golf.
Moreover, the 24-year-old has definitely learned a great deal from his relationship with the 2010 British Open Champion, Louis Oosthuizen.
"I'm a very close mate with Louis," he explained. "He has definitely been showing me the ropes and giving me advice that might help me."
On the final day, all eyes were on the new comer, Grace, who had made a name for himself, justified his 4 titles on the European Tour and on his homeland with a splendid performance in Dubai.
"I really wanted to win outside South Africa because there was a lot of stuff written suggesting I might only win on home turf," noted Grace, who also won the Dunhill Links in Scotland last month.
"Now I think I can really play and I'm looking forward to what's to come", said the young South African prodigy.
South Africa has been producing some good talent in the past and Grace, with his run of form, has made a place for himself among his high ranked countrymen.
Grace would be someone to look forward to in the next season.
