Bradford Bulls take Manase Manuokafoa of Parramatta Eels on board – Rugby League
On Saturday, October 15, Bradford Bulls announced the uptake of Tongan Manase Manuokafoa, on a one-year contract from the Australian side Parramatta Eels.
The singing has become the highlight of the recent uptakes because it has broken trend, which has taken so many players to commit their future with the Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL), Gillette Four Nations campaign.
While speaking about Manuokafoa’s signing, Bulls’ football manager, Stuart Duffy, said, "He's a player who's been on our coach Mick Potter's radar. Mick's time in Australia has enabled him to meet with the player and complete the deal. He has played nearly
90 games in the NRL and we think he will adjust well to the British game. He is a great addition to our squad for next season and offers us something different in that he is big and powerful but with a great offload to his game. His ability to get quick play
the balls will also enhance our forward pack greatly and we are certainly looking forward to having him on board for 2012."
The manager seemed quite content with their latest addition. He also said that the strong built of the 26-year-old, which when was coupled with a height of 6ft 5in, definitely set him apart from the rest.
The player has vast experience, which makes him a good choice for the Bulls. He was part of the Tongan outfit during World Cup 2008 and also has played for South Sydney and North Queensland Cowboys. In NRL he played a total of 90 games which convinced the
Bulls that he will easily adjust with the British way of game in Super League.
Bradford is all looking to upgrade its squad configuration, after finishing outside the top eight within the Super League hierarchy. This is the third successive year that the team has finished outside the top eight.
This has been a disturbing three-year stint for the Bulls and they are now all bent on changing whatever it takes to improve their selection for the upcoming seasons.
