Bradford or Birmingham?

Which city is more suitable for a student? I prefer a city with lower cost of living. It doesnt matter if it doesnt have a wonderful nightlife etc.

I'm from Bradford. The cost of living is less there than it is in Birmingham and the University is very good. It's well set-up for students and there is plenty to do. I did a year of post-graduate teacher training at the Uni there and was happy with the course.

Having said that, I escaped Bradford the second I qualified  and moved to Scotland! Mainly due to factors like the crime rate and the general decline of the city.

I would say that going as a student is a good idea, but don't go meeting the love of your life and settling down there!
