Bradley Ashby occupies Boys 200m IM gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Bradley Ashby of New Zealand occupied gold medal of the Boys 200m Individual medley (IM) in 17-18 years old category on fourth day of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Thursday, April 11.
The 17-year-old Ashby showered his expertise in the 200m discipline and cruised his way towards the finishing wall for gold medal. He showed no mercy to his opponents and rushed his way towards the wall for the title.
With his astonishing pace, Ashby stayed comfortably ahead of his following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing wall for gold medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 02.44 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Jake Baggaley of Trinity Grammar, who was nearly 1.50 seconds slower and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 03.91 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Tomas Elliott of Trinity Grammar, who remained 0.40 seconds slower and made his way towards the wall for third position by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 04.31 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Jack Gerrard of Melbvicentre, who was 1.38 seconds slower and settled on the finishing end for fourth position with the timing of 2 minutes and 05.69 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was secured by Liam Cunneen of Atlantis, who was 1.32 seconds slower and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 07.01 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Ryan h**e of Woden, NSW, who was 0.08 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 07.09 seconds.
h**e was chased by Jame McKechnie of Starplex, who was 0.39 seconds behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 07.48 seconds for seventh position.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Liam Fisk of Nunawading, who was only 0.20 seconds behind and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 07.68 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received huge appreciation from the crowd for his notable effort and collected medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the event.
