Bradley Beal; Thomas Robinson, Andre Drummond: Top 5 Prospects in NBA Draft – Part 2
3. Bradley Beal
The third overall pick in this year`s NBA Draft is expected to be Bradley Beal out of Florida. In his first year in college, He averaged 14.8 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds per game and is one of the best prospects in the
shooting guard position this year.
Along with the scoring Beal also bagged the freshman of the week honours on five different occasions in his first year at college. He also led his team to the final 8 of the NCAA Tournament before finally crashing out by the hands
of the Louisville Cardinals who went on to face the eventual champions, Kentucky Wildcats in the final four.
When he opted back on April 12th to leave college and head into the NBA draft, there have been comparisons drawn between him and the NBA great Ray Allen for his ability to catch and shoot the ball. Even though he managed
a field goal percentage of 44.5%, Beal has shown signs of improvement and will look to be instrumental for whichever team he joins.
4. Thomas Robinson
In a draft class full of majorly instrumental power forwards, Thomas Robinson of the Kansas Jayhawks is expected to be the fourth pick in this year`s draft. Thomas was a leader for his team and a key figure in his teams run to
the NCAA division-1 final against the Kentucky Wildcats.
A junior at college, Robinson averaged 17.7 points to go along with 11.9 rebounds this season. Robinson was also the runner up for the Naismith College Player of the Year behind Anthony Davis. He was the Big 12 conference player
of the year and was named among the first All American team.
He finished the season with 22 double-double to his names and with the best of them coming in a game against University of North Dakota in which Robinson managed 30 points and grabbed 21 rebounds and became only the first Kansas
player to achieve that feat, since 1961.
In his last year at college, Robinson improved his numbers in a major fashion, not only did he improve as a better post player but also developed his mid ranger game. Robinson was able to knock down shots from long range and had
a conversion rate of 50% from beyond the arc.
Robinson also became a prolific rebounder and a go to guy for his team. So this year in the NBA Draft, whichever team opts to select him would have got their hands on a player who is ready for the big level of basketball.
5. Andre Drummond
The player who feel is going to selected as the number 5 pick in the draft is Andre Drummond from the University of Connecticut who made his decision to be drafted in April 12th after spending just one year in college.
As a freshman with the team, Drummond got around an average playing time of 28.4 minutes and averaged 10 points to go along with 7.6 rebounds. As a player his dominating post play style is similar to Andrew Bynum because of the
huge 6-11 frame he possesses.
However in his only season at college, He was not that very assertive on the scoring end despite holding the size advantage. So in order for him to be a reasonably good center in the NBA, a lot of work down in the post needs to
be done.
The most ready part of his game is his ability to divert or block shots. He averaged 2.7 blocks per game and was also very good with his rebounding skills with which he can be an immediate contributor for whichever team he joins
until the overall game comes around.
