Bradley Beal says the Washington Wizards will qualify for playoffs even with 0-12 start – NBA News
The Washington Wizards have clearly been the worst team so far in the NBA this season. The Wizards have started their season 0-12, their worst start in franchise history, and are yet to win a game this season. They are placed at
the bottom of the Eastern Conference and are at the bottom of the league if win loss records are compared between the two conferences. This is by far the worst performance of the Wizards in the history of their franchise. However, there is one player who is
still dreaming about competing in the playoffs next year and thinks that the Wizards can bounce back and become a plus 0.5 winning team before the end of the season and secure a place for themselves in the playoffs. And that player is Wizards rookie Bradley
Beal.
We’re 0-11 but we still have 71 more games. It’s still a long season and we still have an opportunity to get over .500. That’s our goal and we need to shoot for it. Just try to get in the playoffs. I mean, we’re going to make it.
I have faith in this team and I think we’re more than capable of doing it,” said Beal after a double overtime loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night.
The Wizards are currently playing without their best player and floor general in point guard John Wall. Plus, Nene, who is an important part of the Wizards front court, has just returned to the line-up from injury. Hence, with
two main players out due to injury, the Wizards were expected to struggle. Now that Nene is back and Wall is expected to make his return before the end of the year, the Wizards do have an opportunity to improve their game and better their current record.
However, with 71 games left in the season, moving from 0-12 to a plus 0.5 winning percentage is not an easy task and the Wizards will need some exceptional performances and win streaks to accomplish that. Looking at the way they
have played so far, the addition of Wall and Nene will definitely improve their game but such a huge change is not expected and the Wizards will find it difficult to be in playoff conversation.
