Norwich City midfielder Bradley Johnson has been impressed by Tottenham's newest signing Moussa Dembele, and believes the player would have had a bigger impact had he started the game for Spurs on Saturday.
Tottenham failed to win once again at home against Norwich this past Saturday. The team looked tensed and lacked confidence, and was fragile at the back against a very impressive and determined Norwich side.
They would have been 3-0 down at half time had it not been for a series of impressive saves by veteran goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953. Norwich attacked and dominated the first half, but the American shot stopper kept them at bay.
Despite failing to dominate the game, Tottenham scored the first goal of the game when new signing Moussa Dembele came on in the second half. The Belgian was quick to make an impact and impressed in his debut for Spurs.
Spurs thought they had won the game, but were dealt a fierce blow towards the ending minutes when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Snodgrass drove a low shot past Friedel and earned his side a vital away point. Snodgrass had caused the Tottenham a lot of problems throughout the game,
and a goal looked likely as Norwich started pressing for the equalizer.
Midfielder Bradley Johnson believes that the game might have had a different outcome had Dembele started the game instead of being brought on in the second half. The player was however relieved to see the Belgian on the bench.
"A few of us thought that he would start after the Fulham game two weeks ago because he ran the show then," Johnson said.
"It was good to see him on the bench; it was a relief because he's a world-class player. Every time I have played against him at Fulham he has done well and he changed the game for them when he came on."
Spurs had been booed off the pitch after the game, and perhaps the lack of support from the home fans did not help their cause.
"It's always a bonus for the away team when the home fans don't get behind their team," Johnson added. "We knew that if we got in their faces then we would get them under pressure and we did that."
