Bradley Wiggins stronger than Cadel Evans?
Winner of the 2011 Tour de France, Cadel Evans does not seem happy with his current form.
The cyclist has noted that he needs to work even harder to strengthen his chances for the Tour this year.
Evans rode brilliantly in the past season and managed to find the highest podium spot at the Tour after the final general classifications.
He restricted Andy Schleck and Frank Schleck for the second and the third overall positions.
The Australian will face stiff challenge from the Schleck brothers and also from the in-form Bradley Wiggins of Team Sky.
Both, Wiggins and Evans were put to test during the stage 4 of the Criterium du Dauphine and the British came out stronger during the 53 kilometre Individual Time Trial stage 4 of the race.
Bradley of Team Sky Procycling finished the race in a quickest time of 1 hour, 3 minutes and 12 seconds and proved his legs during the stage.
Tony Martin of Team Omega-Quickstep finished 34 seconds behind at the second position with Michael Rogers, Wilco Kelderman and Sylvain Chavanel holding the holding the third, the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Christopher Froome of Team Sky grabbed the sixth spot with Luke Durbridge of Team Orica GreenEdge and Cadel Evans of Team BMC occupying the seventh and the eighth positions.
“I’m not happy with how I rode compared to the specialists,” Evans briefed.
“It was a route that was very well suited to the specialists like Martin and Wiggins, but”.
“From the first time check to the second time check, I seemed to lose some strength,” he said.
“I want to understand why, first of all, and then look to see how it goes in comparison to the mountains and so on”.
“I still have some improvement to make towards the Tour, and I have to make some improvement towards the Tour if I want to win the Tour”.
Evans is more experienced than Bradley in terms of total Tour participations with a total number of seven appearances to his credit.
He managed to find podium on three different occasions whereas, Bradley has not secured any better than the fourth overall spot out of his five appearances at the three-week race.
The contest between Bradley and Cadel will definitely be a treat to watch as the Tour de France circus begins on June 30th, 2012.
