  1. RIP Sir Don...

If Bradman was playing today, he would definitely better than any other batsman. No bowler was capable to get under the skin of the Sir Don. No bowler was so penetrative agaisnt Sir Don. Sir Don will be the greatest batsman to ever play the game.

  2. He would still be the top of the heap as a batsman. No one before or since has been able to come close. In an interview in the 80s, he was asked how he would fare against the then West Indies pace attack that had demolished so many batting line ups. Bradman responded that he would probably average 50 against them. Only 50 asked the interviewer, well I am 86 he replied.

    That says it all.

  3. i don't understand the last line of your Q.

A matter normally is when you have a dispute among opinions and opinions are set on practical grounds, Hussey is talking vague and baseless , which is uncalled for and not required, i don't know why these aussie cricketers speak unnecessary things, which actually are not required at all ,can u explain?

Edit, lol, you got upset , matter has multiple meanings, but i tried to extract the meaning of your intent but you are trying to brush me up, lol you will teach me english now, thats hilarious matter, lol ! Now coming to Hussey, have you ever seen any other country's players trying to be oversmart, i don't think so , its just a thought, how can you compare an orange with an apple, bradman is past, current is current, is Hussey considering the present worth factor of bradman or what? lol

my tributes to the legend Sir Don Bradman

  4. He was born on the 27th of August, 1908. He did great things and died in 2002

  6. Shame his Centenary is the 27th and not the 28th!.

First of all, there is absolutely no arguments about it. Sir Donald Bradman is the greatest cricketer who ever set foot on Earth. He revolutionized cricket in many ways. He is head and shoulders above any cricketer that has ever lived, and he is probably head and shoulders above any sportsman that ever lived.

Bradman would have averaged in the 90's (or even more) if he was playing today. Bradman had unbelievable hand-eye co'ordination, and the technique that he used was years ahead of his time.

Remember that Bradman played with a far thinner bat, with longer boundaries and uncovered pitches. He played with only gloves and pads to protect him, and now there is even a bouncer rule to stop bowlers from continiously bouncing the batsmen.

Bradman would have ruled in any era, but especially now in such a batsmen friendly game.

  7. reckon Huss is right, there will neva be anotha Sir Don.

  8. We haven't quite reached Bradman's centenary here in the UK. Not for another hour.

Would he still be twice as good as any other batsman, and would he handle today's bowlers with ease?

Hmm, I think he would still be a very good batsman, and would certainly love the smaller boundaries. The protective equipment would also be a bonus to him: look at the old newsreel footage of him during the Bodyline series!

His eyes and hands were so quick, that he could have thrived in any era. His ability to spot the gaps in the outfield would mean he would be an excellent player in limited overs cricket. There's no need to bash the ball to all parts: just pick the gaps and the runs will come.

You don't have an average 40 runs higher than anyone else who has played the game for no reason. Bradman is clearly the world's greatest ever batsman, so obviously he would be the best now.

Not among the best. The Best.

  9. I just heard that statistically, that someone being twice as good as their nearest rival, is a 1 in 1,000,000 year event.

So I agree no-one will ever reach this level of performance.  Understood another way, Michael Phelps would have to swim the 100m in 28 secs to equal this statistic!
