Braided Carbon FIber or Solid?

Question

I was looking around for carbon fiber parts for my violin and I came across a tailpiece. It is carbon fiber but its solid. I'm familiar with the braided sort, but this solid kind is new to me.

Can anyone tell me the upsides and downsides? Thanks.

Carbon fiber is popular nowadays. This is a good idea and it will not alter the sound of the violin. It will give a stronger support than the braided one.

Electric violin tend to use this a lot for the simple reason that it is stable.
