am a 19 year old guy (almost 20) and have just spent the last 1 and a half years overseas with a couple of friends working part-time overseas. It just occurred to me recently that I drank a lot of alcohol while I was over there. I worked it out to be about the equivalent of 5 beers every day for 1.5 years. I only drank about 4 days a week and but the average was 5 beers per day (i binge drank and was having about 12 standard drinks per session). I was wondering if the amount I drank could have permanent ramifications for my health such as brain damage (memory loss etc.). Has anyone drank this much themselves when they were 18-19 years old?? I don't feel any different to what i did before i drank but could i have permanently damaged my brain?? Thanks. Has anyone else out there drank tha tmuch at such a young age and has it had any noticable health effects??

Yes u have brain damage, but u wont notice that you do. But if u continue bing drinking you will get short term memory problem's that other people will start to notice and that can effect your work and relatioship's etc. Having said that though, every now and then bing drinking is ok cos your brain has cells that lagg behind the other's and need to be killed off as like in the wild the animals that lagg behind are the ones that get killed first saving the rest of there clan. Sounds silly ? well i think it makes sence. Also if u dont drink for a long long time your brain recover's u get clearer minded/less forgetful. Anyway we all know that if we drink to much for to long u will end up dieing from liver cancer or disease etc. So best u only bing drink now and then but as for your age i think it's ok your body was young and can tolerate some punishment with certain eas.
