  1. Infection elsewhere in the body can travel through the bloodstream to the brain. Ring them every few days to make sure that they have actually made the appointment esp. cos there will probably be a waiting list to get to see such a doctor. Take time off to go the appointment with your Mum.  It helps for two of you to be in the room together with the doctor. Don't you or your Mum be afraid to ask the neurologist lots of questions. Pay close attention to what they tell you both so you can help your Mum understand at the time and afterwards what they say. Take notes and get them to write explanations down or draw pictures of the problem area so that you get what they say.  Best wishes and God bless.

  2. Go to the doctor, not the internet.

  3. I understand your concern and frustration, but you should be talking to doctors about this.  YA is not the place to go to get a medical diagnosis.

I hope your mother sees the neurologist soon, and that he/she will be able to diagnose and treat the condition quickly.
