  1. You could look into Cosmeo.  It's not animated, but rather on-demand video.  The subscription also includes Nutshell Math, which is worth the cost, IMO.  There are a ton of Standard Deviants videos and content from Discovery Channel, etc.

    You can get a free, one-month trial.  Then it's $9.95/mo or $99/yr.

We've subscribed for two years now and LOVE it!

  2. BrainPOP is a really fun learning resource.  In its description, it mentions that its designed for grades 3-12, so it is already for highschoolers (as well as elementary and middleschoolers).  I have both a bachelors and masters degrees and when my kids watch BrainPOP, I often learn info about topics I otherwise wouldn't know.  I also find it pretty entertaining and like to watch right along with my kids.

IMO, no need to look around for a different highschool resource if BrainPOP is working for you.  If some of the info is too basic, there's plenty more there that's advanced and can present ideas for further research for highschoolers.

  3. There are plenty of high school level topics on BrainPOP!  I'm a teacher's kid, college educated, and I learn stuff on there all the time.

I'll admit, the graphics are decidedly...kid-friendly; however, if you can get past that, they really do have a lot of great research topics and links to further study there.

If anyone knows of something more in-depth, though, I'd love to hear about it!  I love sites like BP - so does my son!
