Let's say their shift is over and they still have customers at their tables. Customers come and go all through the day.

How do they leave their scheduled shift when people are sitting at their tables?

  1. Some stay until all of their tables leave without taking any more tables, and some turn the tables over to the next server to come on the floor.

When waitresses are scheduled, they only have a start time. They do not have an end time because their hourly pay is rarely reflected in their paycheck anyway.

  2. They get another server to cover their tables.

  3. you either stay and wait on your tables to get the tip, not picking up any new tables or you give your tables to someone else and lose the tip.

  4. you have two options:

    -transfer table to another server

    -wait until they leave.

i prefer to leave..but if u're smart enough, u stop taking tables half an hour before u're scheduled to leave. it saves a lot of headache and u have time to so ur sidework in the mean time:)

  5. You pretty much just have to wait until your customers leave for you to be able to leave if you want your tip.  If you need to leave sometimes you can get another server to take care of your table if they can have your tip.  It pretty much just depends on where you work, and you work around your customers schedule, not your own.
