  1. I would say never. Inflation, not deflation. And there is plenty of oil in the continental US, we just don't here about it. Both the east and west coasts are abundant with it, but they don't want you to know that. Plus everyone in the area would fight the eye sore of an oil well in their neighborhood, and cry environmental hazard. The reality of it is that oil was first discovered, drilled for, and refined in Pennsylvania. That's where it first replaced whale oil for lamps.

Senator Larry Craig, (R) of Idaho, Has a complete plan to start drilling for and refining oil here to lower our dependency on foreign oil.

Gas prices will never go down considerably, but we could stabilize it with our own.

  2. As soon as we drill for our oil in the Gulf of Mexico and in northern Alaska, combined with increased use of alternative energy sources like Nuclear, Wind, Solar, etc., and more conservation. It will take all of these to get off foreign oil and reduce pollution.

  3. Probably when we find a great big oil field off the southrn coast of Alaska or someplace in the rockies.

Also when those new ethanol refineries are built.

I'm sure it will drop down near or less than $2 a gallon again.

  4. There is no chance that oil will ever go back down to that price.

The oil exporting nations are a monopoly. They ahve decided to keep oil prices artificially high because they can.

Iran depends on oil exports for over 80% of its revenue. Iran wants oil prices to be even higher than they are now.

Iran will attack any oil exporting nation in the middle east that floods the market with oil and reduces the price of oil.

The attack alone will bring oil prices back up to where they were and higher.

  5. When our president doesn't have a personal interest in the profits of oil companies and oil fields of countries who want nothing to do with him.

  6. Nearer $8 a gallon in UK,you are very lucky.

  7. It may never. If it does it will likely be relatively brief ...
