Shouldn't people be at work or school at that time?

It's 1:00PM on a weekday and so many people are out and about.

Rush hour is pretty light here in the Raleigh area compared to other cities, but it's almost the same amount of volume as midday.

Is the unemployment rate this high?

or perhaps people drive for their jobs.

(I see a mix of company vans and private cars on the road during the day)

It's like the traffic volume never decreases during the early afternoon.

Weekends are no better. 1:30PM is the peak traffic period on weekends.

  1. Not everyone works.  Not everyone works at 1:00.  Not everyone works during the week.

Think of housewives.  Think of night-shift workers.  Think of weekend waitresses or strippers.

  2. No kidding. I think that the roads should be shut down to anyone who is employed or going to school. OH, housewives are THE worst offender of  driving during the day. I think that we should create a way so that only jobless people and foreigners can use road ways.

  3. many jobs involve driving around

1:00 pm is around the lunch hour so people are rushing to lunch or meetings

parents rushing to see their kids school plays at two o clock the list is endless.
