It's pretty hard to find boys named Barney these days.

Do you think it'll come around again?

  1. Only if the parents want their kid to be called a dinosaur

  2. I would consider using the name Barnabas as a middle name. It doesn't sound bad. I'd lump the name into the same category as names like Alfie and Harry, if it weren't for the fact that the name has the word 'barn' in it, and it sounds like barmy. I'm not really fond of the 'arn' sound anyway... It sounds too harsh when I say it aloud.

  3. It will quite possibly come back in to fashion. I mean look at Henry and George, other old-fashioned names. They came back so why can't Barney??

  4. Not if the parents do not want their kid ridiculed at school everyday.

  5. Maybe when its no longer associated with a big purple dinosaur!

Seriously, though - names go in streaks, and parents have a million different reasons for the names they chose.  I think it will come back like most of them do ... its just a matter of time.

  6. I'm sure some loser out there will name their kid Barney.......
