Brakes Intermittently Dont work?

I have recently changed my brakes on my 2002 Saturn L300. Since then they will occasionally not work and the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, however thankfully my e brake does work. also, the ABS light will come on occasionally. there seems to be no pattern for when the brakes dont work. i have bled them, and they still do this

the brakes might not be adjusted up against the drum tight enough and the shoes has to travel too far before they hit the drum, adjust the shoes up just enough so the drum will just slide on and you have some drag on the shoes when you spin the drum.

You either have a bad master cylinder or leak some where else in the hydraulic system of your brakes

Not being able to go is an inconvenience.  Not being able to stop is an emergency.

Take it to the shop.  Is your life worth the money you save if you try to do it yourself, but get it wrong?  I'll change my brake pads, but for everything else, my ride goes to the pros.

if your brake pedal gos to the floor when u are sitting at a red light or stop sing then your master brake cylinder is going bad or already is sorry just make sure u bench bleed it before u install it

When you bled the brakes did you start at the master cylinder.  If you didn't you have to start over beginning with the master cylinder . The .air in the line is between the master cylinder and the closest brake cylinder  because the abs unit is in between the two.  When replacing brakes or pads  on some cars the Abs system has to be reset. Then proceed to bleed the remaing wheels cylinders. That should do the trick.

well most cases it will be air in the system.... and or the master is going out.....  try holding pressure on the pedal or really go to a brake shop or any shop and have it check....bad brakes are no joke you got to have them working in top shape.....nothing like hittting a brick wall or getting run over by a big truck...... take it to a shop man
