I recently had front and back brakes done, and drove without problems for a few hundred kms. What on earth can the sound be? (The work was done interstate, so cant go back).

  1. Probably is just break dust.

Buy a can of break cleaner, which should be inexpensive.

Ask a friend to jack up the vehicle, and remove the wheel.

Open the break fluid resevoir lid.

Use some soft tools to gently pry apart the break pads from the rotor.  This takes more patience, rather than force.

Dont worry about hurting it, it is sturdy.

Inspect the pads with a bright light, to be sure the mechanic actually did the work, and the pads are ok.

Spray both sides of the rotor and pads with the break cleaner, and put it back together.

There is a good chance that will fix the problem.

  2. have someone pull the wheels off and check them,a spring could have came loose and be causing this too happen,if that's the case this could damage the new brakes, have it checked as soon as you can, good luck.

  3. it could be brake dust, if they did,nt spray them down when they changed the brakes.

  4. Sounds like you need a brake job
