Question:

Brakes not working so well

I drive a 1994 Nissan Maxima and recently took off the intake manifold and valve covers for a little cleaning and now I've got my car running again but the brakes don't work at all compared to how they worked before the work and the only thing I know has changed was I had to take the brake booster hose off the intake manifold and I did put it back on so I don't know what the problem is.

Anyone know and procedure that will fix this? The booster and master cylinder should be okay I would think.

  1. Check and see if you cracked the hose. Also, you can measure the vacuum by disconnecting the end at the booster. It would be hard to mess anything up short of just having created a vacuum leak when you took everything apart.

  2. any additionial info....  pedal is hard / soft?    pedal goes to the floor?

    etc.??????
