I'm trying to hook up my hot tub and its a older model and its requires 3 circuits. 2 230v circuits (20amp and 30amp) and one 120v (20amp). My question is can I buy one 230v 50amp gfci breaker and split it into 2 230v circuits? so I could run separate fuse breakers for each 230v circuit and still have them protected by a gfci. Kinda confusing but trying not to spend 400$ on 2 gfci breakers.

  2. If you buy a 6 circuit breaker box, you could feed it with the gfci 50 amp and then divide the loads as you describe with standard breakers.  It is best to call a qualified professional electrician to do this work since hot tubs and spas are very closely coded.
