Question:

Brand New Viking Pool Cue Warped?

Just bought a G23 brand new Viking cue last week. Love everything about it, but strangely, it seems that it has a slight warp. Nothing serious, but a slight wobble when I roll it, and I have rolled it on flat surfaces (not pool table, I know that can be innacurate). Furthermore, I can see the slight warp if I examine it very closely. Then again, is it possible for a cue to be absolutely flawless?

  1. with modern computerised manufacturing techniques, I would say it is unacceptable to have a cue delivered that is anything but perfectly straight.

  2. Its not only Possible It has to be if its in my case

Roll just the shaft and the butt seperate it is most likley the joint BUT send it back anyway Vikings are good cues and there is no excuse for that

  3. If you just got it and there is a warp send it back and have them fix where ever the warpage is.  Could be the shaft, joint or butt.  There is no way I would stand for a cue to warp unless it was somehow by my doing.  So contact where ever you bought it from and tell them you want it fixed.  Good luck!

  4. If you bought it from an authorized viking dealer you should be able to get something done. Here's a link to their warranty page , with a number you can call. Good luck.

  5. Viking warranties their cues against warpage. Take it back to where you got it (or call or email and if you bought online) and ask what needs to be done.

And to answer your question: No, it is not possible for a cue to be absolutely perfect. But a well made cue has tolerances that are high enough that you should not be able to detect any noticeable flaws. A brand new cue with a visible wobble is not acceptable.
