Question:

Brand New Waverunner won't start?

We took it out for maybe its third run. We forgot to close the water plugs at the back and as soon as we got out on the water, it was heavy in the water. We closed the plugs and tried to drive it around so the pump could get the water out but it didn't improve. We shut it off to check to make sure there wasn't debris caught in the intake. It was fine. When we went to turn it back on it would turn over but it would never start. Surely we're not the first and only idiots to forget to plug the drains? Surely Yamaha's can't be broken from such a simple error? I took it to the shop, but the guy's backed up 2 1/2 weeks before he can look at it. Anyone know if this is a simple fix, and can leaving my drain plugs open void my warranty?

  1. try buying it some brand new fuel!

  2. Well first basics is it unlocked fro the remote. 2 Is the lanyard in.3 Try putting it on the trailor for a couple of seconds and REALLY REALLY RELLY quick turn it on and throttle it a couple of times, butmake sure you do this quickly or else you'll burn up the engine.

  3. answering your last question first...it should not void your warranty but reading the actual warranty should answer that question for you.

it could be a simple fix but time will tell. have you dried the spark plugs? yes, they can get wet and this sounds like it might be your problem. back them out, dry them off, put them back in and give it a try. if successful it's great but if not keep the appt open with the shop and let them look into it for you.

    good luck!!!
