  1. When buying a brand name PC, your paying for the brand name no doubt about it.  The custom service with many custom pc places are on par with them anyway, so why not get a better computer for less than the price of one from a major brand name?

Take a look at these sites:

    Cyberpowerpc.com

    Ibuypower.com

I personally have done buisness with both of these sites, good luck.

  2. Custom Built.

Here you can compare the prices:

And here you´ll get all needed software for free:

I´m sure you´ll safe 50 to 70 percent in costs

  3. The advantage of a custom PC is that you get to pick and choose all components of your computer, so long as they are compatible, and have much more flexibility when it comes to upgrading your computer.  The advantage a brand name PC has is that for people who aren't  good with computers the brand name PC comes with the company's support team which you won't have with a custom PC.  Also brand name PCs often have a lot of pre-installed software and bloatware but will have an anti-virus and firewall pre-installed (again good for people who aren't good with computers).  The downside is that brand name computers tend to be more limited when it comes to upgrades since you typically have to use that company's components.

Both have their good and bad sides so neither is really better than the other.  What it comes down to is what you need in a computer, your level of experience with computers and if you need the flexibility when upgrading.

  4. Tell that idiot to buy Crysis and run it. Oh wait that's right he can't because he would get 1 fps on it, lol. His processor is the absolute minimum for Crysis. Oh and your PC is way better than his, stock HP pc's have S****y graphics cards and dual core is way better than single core.

  5. well yours should blow his away.....which im sure it does.....run some benchmarks, performance test (pass mark), 3d06 and compare them......there wont be any argument then.......scott

  6. A brand name will generally skip on the parts, a LOT.

A custom built unit doesn't use c**p parts and lasts longer and warranties are individual to each component. Additionally, you don't have to send out the entire unit.

I would only get a brand name unit if it is POWERPC, and that would be apple, because it is a LOT cheaper than a custom built unit or one made by IBM(like $5000 for the base workstation).
