Brand new exilim ex-z77 tried charging battery, red light on charger keeps flashing, and it won't charge??!

what's the deal? this thing is BRAND NEW, I charged it when I got it, it worked great, it finally ran out of batts, so this is the first time I've chrarged it since the day I got it, and the red light on the charger just keeps flashing... any ideas folks??

make sure it's plugged in all the way and let it sit for awhile... if that doesn't work then idk cause i can't even FIND my charger so my camera is dead
