I've hooked up the water supply, added oil, added gas, hooked up high pressure hose to pump and gun, there's a choke(rabbit or turtle) a lever beneath that is a grey ? no idea what it's for...then a lever beneath that that has an arrow pointing right and then the word start(so I push it to the right) and there's a totally different switch for on/off...yes it's switched on. I've never started this thing once and it's brand new.......I pull, and pull.....nothing. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Make sure you release the pressure that builds up as you crank the engine by squeezing the trigger.  Make sure you point the wand in a safe direction.  Release the pressure after each crank.

  2. A friends pressure washer wouldn't start when he bought it. There were 2 places where you had to add oil. He only filled one and didn't notice the other. I found the other and we filled it and the thing started right up. Look for a 2nd oil fill.

  3. Stop everything

    will explain but long

Not sure this is your problem but it may be and if it is it can ruin your pressure washer I found out the hard way

A lot of out door water valves have check valves on them now. its a brass thing on the water spicket that stops water from back flowing into you house. these thing will kill pressure washers. as the pump turns it send a pressure wave back thru the supply hose this back flow stops that pluse and creates hydolock in the pump this can over tax the motor or pump very quickly and one or the other will give. Make sure you remove the back flow and run water thru the pressure washer with line pressure before you start it. If this is not the issue sorry I waisted your time
