Brand tires different up front than the rear

Does it matter what brand you use for front and rear tires, let's say on my focus, I wanna keep the stock rear tires, but i gotta purchase new ones up front, does it matter if the brand is different than from the back.

Doesn't matter at all. As long as you change the tyres on each axle at the same time, you'll be fine (change both the fronts at the same time, or change both the backs at the sametime)

Fronts don't need to be the same as the back, but it's better on grip to have the same tyres per axle (For example Pirelli on the front and Bridgestone on the back is fine)

this only is really important with a 4x4 or all wheel drive car or truck.

no, the only thing that matters is that they are the right size (not necessarily the same size) for your car.  brand means nothing other than reliability that comes with certain brand names.
