Brandon Jennings demands a rematch between the Goodman and Drew Leagues; Kobe Bryant might play
On Saturday night, the Washington D.C’s Goodman League All-Stars claimed a 135-134 victory over Los Angeles’ Drew League All-Stars in a highly anticipated showdown at Trinity University in Washington. In a high scoring extravaganza,
Kevin Durant was named as the Most Valuable Player from Goodman League while Brandon Jennings starred for the Drew League, that did not feature the Los Angeles Lakers star shooting guard Kobe Bryant.
However, as soon as the game ended, Brandon Jennings tweeted that the game finished on a bad call and asked for a rematch. Durant, not the one to back down from a challenge, and John Wall immediately responded that they were up
for it.
Kevin Durant dropped 44 in the Saturday’s Drew-Goodman’s game. He played against the Oklahoma City Thunder team mate James Harden. Harden hounded Durant throughout the night and along with Jennings, he gave a six point lead to
the Drew League late in the game. However, in the end the Drew All Stars could not keep pace with Durant, John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins.
The game was exciting and it had featured top stars and had a lot of entertainment. Fans crawled into every little space available apart from seats and aisles. However, there was a bit of mismanagement as about five hundred fans
who bought the tickets for the game were not allowed to enter into the building after it was jam packed to its capacity.
According to the reports, the rematch will be arranged on September 10th in Los Angeles  and according to the commissioner of the Drew League, Dino Smiley, Kobe Bryant will also join the rematch.
This will definitely take the rematch to a whole different level. Not only will Durant and Co. Will have a monster to deal with on the court, but the financial perks, in terms of sponsors, that Kobe will bring with him will also
add to the glitter.
A week ago, Kobe Bryant had made an appearance in the South Los Angeles’ Drew League. Right after the game, rumours started that he will join the league in its visit to Washington but he later declined. The Los Angeles has been
busy exploring his overseas options ever since the lockout began and it seems that he wants to do things his own way. Whether he decides to participate in the next fixture and give some hoop starved fans some action remains to be confirmed from his camp.
