Brandon Jennings stars as Milwaukee Bucks edge out Indiana Pacers 98-93: NBA Recap
Brandon Jennings was red hot on the night. He scored a season high 34 points as Milwaukee fought off the Indiana Pacers for a 98-93 win here at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Tuesday night, snapping Pacers' 3 game winning streak
.
"We knew that was going to be big for us. We let them get a lot of offensive rebounds in the first half and they were able to score off that. We knew that coming down the stretch, every rebound counted and we locked in there and
boxed our men out." commented Bucks centre Larry Sanders on his team grabbing more rebounds than the Pacers in the final 5 minutes of the game.
Mike Dunleavy returned from the injury after 7 games to add 17 points and grab 6 rebounds for the Bucks. Monta Ellis had 19 points and 6 assists, but he went 8 of 23 from the field, while Luc Mbah a Moute had a double-double with
10 points and 10 rebounds.
Lance Stephenson knocked down a three pointer early in the first period to put the Pacers ahead on 7-6. Milwaukee went in front but the Pacers scored 6 straight to go up 13-10. This trend of exchanging leads continued for most
of the period and a Gerald Green jumper at the close of the quarter had Indiana leading on 25-21.
The Pacers kept the upper hand for most of the second period, Tyler Hansbrough scored one from foul line to have them leading 30-25 early in the quarter. Two Mbah a Moute free throws reduced the gap down to 29-32 but the Pacers
kept on scoring baskets to maintain their lead. Later on, the Bucks cut the gap down to 37-38, but Indiana did not let the hosts get ahead and led by 48-45 at halftime.
The Bucks kicked off the second half with an 8-2 run to snatch the lead, 53-50. Pacers kept it close for a while but the Bucks started pulling away later in the period. A 6 nil spurt pushed Milwaukee lead to 63-55 with 4:33 left
and they maintained their advantage till the end of the quarter, 72-66.
An 11 nil run snatched the lead from Bucks as Indiana went in front on 78-75. It was close for most of the quarter, and was still a three point game on 88-92 with 2:43left in the regulation. Jennings scored the final 4 points and
they defended well in the last 2 minutes of the game to sneak in a win.
