The former Kentucky point guard believes he has gotten better over the summer and it will show on court for the Detroit Pistons next season...
Brandon Knight’s recovery from a plantar fasciitis has been a slow process because of the critical nature of his injury. The particular foot injury makes it harder for a player to run, but Knight is expected to be back fully fit
for training camp.
Coming into his second season in the NBA, Knight is hoping to better his performances from last time around and is confident that his summer workouts are going to reap benefits for him.
“Some of the things I wish I would have been better at last year, I think I will show this year because I’ve gotten so much better at them,” Knight said. “That’s why I’m very excited about the season. I can’t wait. I’m going to
be able to do a lot more things as far as getting guys involved. I’m looking forward to getting guys to play harder and to want the basketball and look for me as a player that is going to help them have a good game, somebody that’s making everybody around
them better.”
Every year there are a lot of players who promise to perform at a whole new level in the coming season, but expectations don’t always turn out to be true. However, judging by Knight’s performances as a rookie, he is surely capable
of delivering on his promise. He averaged 12.8 points per game for the Pistons however immaturity often seemed to get the better of him. But there were promising signs and Knight slightly needs to change his approach to a game before he can be considered among
one of the better point guards in the league. One thing he surely needs to work on is his shooting speed and that too while taking high percentage shots.
If Knight along with his team-mates like Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond is able to play up to the potential, the Pistons surely have a very good chance of taking a positive step in their recovery process – something they have been
going through for the past few years.
