Brandon Marshall makes play-off guarantee
The Miami Dolphins are poised to make a change at quarterback for their upcoming game against the Tennessee Titans, and wide receiver Brandon Marshall has made the claim that no matter which Chad (Henne or Pennington) is under center, the Dolphins will be
in the play-offs by the end of the regular season.
"Absolutely," Marshall told reporters on Thursday when asked whether he thought his team would qualify for the NFL play-offs. "Any minute now we're going to put it together. I don't know how many wins it's going to take, but we'll be there at the end."
Pennington has not played since injuring his shoulder in week 3 of last season and has been given the opportunity to start the Dolphins' next game. Although Marshall was surprised by the change in personnel, he had nothing but positive things to say about
both of the Dolphins quarterbacks.
"You don't expect things like that," he said. "We all know by now Pennington is more than capable. He led this team a couple of years ago to the playoffs, so there's definitely no drop-off there. I think he'll give our offense a little spark. But Chad Henne
is a quarterback who can be an All-Pro.
"Henne is one of the most gifted quarterbacks I've been around, and one of the most gifted quarterbacks in the NFL. Pennington has been in the league forever. He has seen a lot of football. We may need that right now."
Although the play of the 4-4 Dolphins has been described to this point as mediocre, no one on the team has been pointing the finger of blame at Henne. And Marshall was in agreement that everybody on Dolphins needs to step it up. "It was a team thing," he
said. "We have to do a better job with Pennington back there of making plays and making him look good."
