Brandt Snedeker almost at the end of a tough season
After the Pro-Am finished on Thursday, Snedeker went straight to the practise field and started practicing his putting. Normally he goes to the range to hit balls for an hour.
However, after practising his putting for 30 minutes, Snedeker went straight back to room for an afternoon nap. This is how physically demanding the playoffs and tour are.
Brandt Snedeker is paired with Nick Watney and Tiger Woods at TPC Boston. Snedeker finished second at The Barclays and, with the Ryder Cup at the back of his mind, he will be looking to come up with another strong performance.
“I love doing this. I wouldn’t want to be any place else, so that’s not too much of an issue. Ryder Cup’s definitely on my mind. But I’m not letting it affect the way I play”.
The golf schedule has become too tight for the players and they need some rest after a few weeks. Snedeker feels that this tight schedule is not at all a problem. He has the experience of Web.com Tour, where he played 19 rounds in eight weeks back in 2005.
He stated, “These stretches can be good or bad depending how your outlook is. If you’re playing good like I am, I welcome it. So I’m going to keep running it for as long as I can go”.
Snedeker spends his free time in the gym. He feels the more he lifts, the more energy he gets. That is because when one is drained out that is the time when one gets recharged properly.
“It flushes everything out of your body and kind of re-energizes you,” he said.
The current world number one believes that playing five tournaments in four weeks is pretty ‘okay’ but it drains out a player mentally. He feels that playing three tournaments in four weeks is ideal as it gives enough time for the body to recover as well
for the upcoming tournaments.
Jason Dufner took the last week off to gain some rest and re-energise himself for the Ryder Cup. He missed The Barclays and dropped four places from the 2nd to the 6th.
“If I would have played last week, I would have had to play eight of nine weeks through the Ryder Cup, which is a lot of golf,” Dufner said.
