Brandt Snedeker continues to disappoint at World Challenge
Brandt Snedeker shot an excellent round of four-under, 68 on Friday at the World Challenge presented by Northwestern Mutual.
It seemed that his tournament was back on track. However, the American could not continue his decent form from overnight, as he carded another poor round in the 70s.
The world number ten carded one-over, 73, on a day where most of the players struggled. The conditions were wet and soggy on Saturday as the players took to the field.
Although they were allowed to lift the ball and clean the area before making a stroke, still they faced problems.
Tiger Woods also complained about the conditions, which was very unlike him, as he normally does not blame anybody for his performance.
The FedEx Cup holder never really got going on Saturday. He started off poorly carding a bogey right on the first hole. He managed to pull a shot back on the par-5, 5th hole by carding a birdie.
Snedeker was even par on the front nine and then struggled on the back nine. Snedeker failed to score any birdies on the back nine
All he managed was a few pars but to his disappointment, he carded a bogey right on the last hole to finish one-over.
It was not an impressive performance overall from the American but bogeying the 18th hole must have been really disappointing. It is always nice to finish the round on a high as it boosts one’s confidence.
Snedeker who has had a terrific 2012 year must shoot card a low round on Sunday to sign his off season on a high. He is one-over for 54-holes and is surely out of contention for the tournament.
However, just to boost his morale and confidence, he must score low at the Sherwood Golf and Country Club on Sunday.
Graeme McDowell and Keegan Bradley continued to shine at the World Challenge. The Irishman carded a bogey free round of four-under on Saturday, whereas Bradley shot five-under, cutting McDowell’s lead by one stroke.
Snedeker was very upbeat before the tournament but, for some reason, he has failed to perform he way he was expected to.
