Brandt Snedeker ready for another good show at the RBC Canadian Open
Brandt Snedeker is confident to make a strong start at this week’s RBC Canadian Open, following a great show of the game in The Open Championship last week.
Snedeker took the halfway lead with a record setting 10-under par overall score. He fired 66 and 64 in the opening two rounds as he hunted for his maiden major title victory at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club.
The American failed to keep his momentum going into the final two rounds, but he still managed to grab the share of the third position with Tiger Woods on three-under par tournament score.
He now plans to take positives out of his last week’s performance to this week at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
“I obviously played really well last week and take a lot of positives from that this week” he said. “It's obviously a different golf course, but it's a great golf course. We don't get to play too many traditional golf courses like this. It's going to be
really tough, going to challenge every club in the bag”.
According to him, the course can be really difficult, as the greens can play a major role in making the life difficult for the players.
Yet, it does not matter much to him because of his recent form on the PGA Tour. He has managed to record four top-10 finishes so far, including a playoff victory at the Farmers Insurance Open.
He also admitted that he chose a defensive strategy as the game moved at Royal Lytham because of the requirement of the course.
However, he does not plan to keep the same strategy in Hamilton, as the course allows the players to go aggressive at the ball and take more chances.
“I think there's going to be some different stuff, obviously, especially on the greens and lines off tees and stuff like that,” he said. “But when you're playing good, it kind of goes on any golf course you play. I don't think it really matters where you're
playing”.
Snedeker is scheduled to tee off at 8:10am local time on the back nine of the course.
