Brandt Snedeker will defend his RBC Heritage title
Brandt Snedeker will be defending his title of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament, scheduled from April 12 to 15, 2012.
The 31-year-old American professional golf player defeated the current no.1 Luke Donald in the playoff mode, last year, at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Both the professionals scored 12-under 272 and competed well for the title. Then Snedeker took advantage in the playoff mode and won amazingly.
They played tremendously last year. Their scoring, putting, driving distance, accuracy and performance on the greens was one of the best. Snedeker won the winning prize of $1,026,000, whereas Donald bagged $615,600 in total.
Donald had the chance to be the number one golf player throughout the world, but Snedeker stopped him by winning the 2011 Heritage.
"I just told him he's going to be No. 1. Sorry it didn't go the right way for him," Snedeker said. "He's that kind of player."
He added, "It's a storybook ending really, to be playing Luke in a playoff, to even have a chance to win was exciting to me".
Snedeker has won three PGA Tour titles since turning professional in 2003. He is also the proud winner of two tournaments staged by the Nationwide Tour in 2006.
In 2011, he won the title of The Heritage and impressed the spectators in many tournaments. Last year was the best year for the American professional.
Similarly, in the current year he also displayed an amazing performance and cheered his spectators. He won the title of the Farmers Insurance Open in January, by scoring 16-under 272.
He also finished among the top-10 on the leaderboard at the Humana Challenge and the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.
Now, the American is looking forward to be impressive again at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
He has to face tough challenging rivals like Donald, Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, Trevor Immelman, Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington, Bill Haas, Ernie Els and Aaron Baddeley.
Hence, securing a title again is an uphill task. However, Snedeker is in his full form and is confident to lead again. The only need of the hour is to play well and to save bogeys throughout the four-day tournament.
