http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Branislav-Ivanovic-c7994 has urged his teammates at the club to stand behind the manager Andre Villas-Boas as they attempt to climb out of their recent slump.
The Blues are in danger of ending up without a trophy again as they try to end their poor form in both the English Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. While they no longer have hopes of securing the Premier League crown, they still
have hope in the cup competitions.
After a 2-0 defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 in the English Premier League, Chelsea have slipped to fifth place on the Premier League table and are in fear of not qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season. They are currently behind Manchester City, Manchester
United, Tottenham Hotspur and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
They have had similar luck in the FA Cup, stumbling to a 1-1 draw against championship side Birmingham City. The Blues came from behind to score an equalizer which has earned them a replay of the match, giving them another opportunity to keep their FA Cup
hopes alive.
The UEFA Champions League has not been forgiving either, in their clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 the Blues suffered a 3-1 defeat. The loss in the first leg and a precious away goal still leaves them room to make amends at Stamford Bridge in the second leg but that
all depends on their improvement.
Ivanovic, who recently turned 28, has urged the Blues to stand united in this testing time and retain their faith that things would eventually turn around. He admitted the players needed to step up and do their jobs since Villas-Boas was already doing his.
Ivanovic said in an interview:
“Yes. This is one of the most important moments and we all know that. We have to be together with each other and it can help us pass this moment. These things are always coming out when you're losing. What we can all do together is still believe and
try to do the right things.”
Ivanovic continued:
“I don't know what the manager is saying, but it is more about what is happening with Chelsea. That is more important than the relationship between the manager and players.
The manager is doing his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 by deciding who plays and we, as players, have to do our job.
I think every player thinks like that and tries to make things better.”
