Indian chief coach Jose Brasa has said that present Indian team has abilities to achieve a great result in upcoming Olympic Games in London 2012 but for this to happen, the present training system should be improved.
He said only those teams can earn the title who really are under efficient upgraded training system, because it holds the key to success in Olympics.
After 2008 Beijing Olympics, for the first time, India missed the chance of winning gold medal in Asian Games. Brasa is confident of Indian team’s abilities for winning Olympics if they get sufficient training under qualified trained professionals.
“Forget about the qualifiers, this team is capable of winning a medal in Olympic. If they are trained properly with scientific method, adequate support staff with a sports psychologist, proper programme and modern equipments. None of these is available
now,” Brasa said before leaving for Spain as his contract expires on Tuesday.
Brasa was quite satisfied with the Indian team’s performance and  said that if team remains in the same kind of form, they can win against any team.
He estimated that the team requires proper training of two years.
“Ric Charlesworth (Australian coach) has said and I am repeating that one needs at least two years to prepare a team. I wanted to prolong my stay here, as I said before leaving to
China, provided my programme for the team is implemented on priority basis which did not happen,” he said.
Brasa also gave strong suggestions to Indian national coach Harendra, to withdraw his resignation and continue working on Indian team, because they really needed him at this stage. Harendra had resigned on moral grounds for the defeat in Asian Games semi-final
against Malaysia.
“I think that was a mistake. Harendra should reconsider his decision. His attitude is right and he understands the team,” said Brasa.

He also dismissed the media reports that his contract would have been renewed had the team won a gold medal at Asian Games.
Brasa further said that he will never forget the time which he spent with the team and Indian crowd.
