Brasscraft faucet connector?

This connector hose has a compression connector at the lower end. What happens when I connect it and later disconnect it? Is the compression connector ruined by having been used? Or can I reuse it again and again?

  1. These can be re-used.   And don't over-tighten them. Snug is enough, if there should be a drip replace the ferrule (the little brass tapered part that is under the nut.

  2. After they have been on for a number of years, they get corroded, and may or may not connect without leaking. My suggestion would be to replace it with and new supply hose. The best, and easiest are the braided stainless connectors. Take your old supply to Home Depot, or hardware, and they will match it up with one that will work. These take all the hassle out of plumbing repairs.
