Brasseye was a comedy series in the late 90's on British television. It was often slammed because of the oversensitive public and over imaginative media. In my opinion it is the greatest comedy achievement to date, only rivaled by Extras, trigger happy tv and curb you enthusiasm. I was wondering if it was popular in America because contrary to popular british belief you do in fact get irony and even more so than the average british adult, just look at anything Larry David touches. So i would like to know was/is Brasseye popular in America and if so did the public and the media overreact as much as over here.

  1. as far as I know Brasseye  never ran in the usa- in the 80's /90's we mainly got the Older sitcoms for  UK comedy-we get very little "topical'/satire"  type uk comedy here

    - the only reason I have seen  Basseye a few is that I belong to a Brit tv watching fanclub- the guy has tape  trading partners in the uk or can download british tv shows
