Braukmann Automatic Air Vent Should it be seeping water out of the cap at the top?

I posted this earlier but I hadnt looked at the name on the thing so I was perhaps not very clear with my question. Sorry. Perhaps you lovely plumbers will understand what I mean now.

  1. No, it should not weep. Some of the Braukmann vents are cleanable. If you have a circle with and arrow on it on the side of the vent, it will be able to be rotated to close it off for cleaning. Unscrew the top, and remove the float assembly and clean off the seat and float ball. If your is a sealed product, this should be replaced by one of us boiler guys. You have to shut the water pressure off to the whole system to replace this.  


  2. An air vent is for air

    if you have water coming out its time to change it.
