  1. My 15 year old son.  He is an Asperger's kid, (not to be confused with autism.)  He has this neurocognitive quirk, like Bill Gates, which makes him a genius in science and math but makes negotiating around a normal conversation or making friends very difficult.

I think he is courageous because he is keenly aware of the differences within himself, and the challenges life is throwing his way, and I know that the world can be a very confusing and upsetting place for him.

He takes care of his school work with diligence and excels in his best subjects, but he also has a deep desire to improve the human condition because he has great fears about what is going to happen to this world of ours.   Toward that end, he is, at his tender age, trying to develop alternative energies.  He also has a tender heart which gives him amazing courage, and he would defend anyone from a new kid in school from bigger kids who were bullying him, to a centipede on a branch, when the other kids would throw rocks at it.

He faces his special challenges, and sometimes I see the fears within him when he is faced with something new.  He is courageous because he has many fears, but he faces them anyhow.

    I am a lucky mom.

    Lady Morgana

  2. My parents. For putting up with my sister and I, and sacrificing everything for us. And my mom for trying her hardest to not let her childhood get the better of her. I love my parents. :)

  3. Honestly, Jesus, walked to the cross for all of us.

  4. My little sister, she's 5 years younger then I am but I really respect her. She's an artist and she puts a part of herself out there that I would be so terrified too.

  5. My dad, because he stands up for what he believes in, even though people put him down. He inspires me to think for myself and speak for what is right even when the world is fighting against me.

And my brother. He is 14 and has autism. Just the fact that he faces the world knowing he's different is brave. He goes through every day with people staring at him and not understanding why he is the way he is. He has so much trouble communicating, but he is still happy despite all of the challenges in his life. He teaches me how to be brave, and I stand up for him when he is not able to.

And my mom. She's struggled with different types of cancer all my life, but I've never seen her break down. She teaches me how to be strong and have faith.

  6. My brother, although we have major differences, deserves credit for being brave. For the 4th time he is about to move to a new city all by himself.  Talk about courage, I would have to have a friend move with me or already live there.

  7. My grandma is the bravest person I know.  She helped me talk over some problems I had with a suicidal friend.  And encouraged me to get her help.  She didn't tell anyone though, she trusted me enough to do the right thing.  That is why I love my grandma.
