Me personally I am VERY pleased.

I mean, Chad Tracy or Casey Kotchman? thats a no brainer.

Tex was gonna walk after the season anyways so why not get something for him.

  1. I hope they get Kotchman and a young pitcher for the future. I think it is a good deal if that can happen.

  2. well as a mets fan i love it cause texeria killed the mets

  3. If i was the Braves i would be very happy over this trade.  You're right, Tex was gonna walk after this year.  Casey Kotchman is very underrated.  Future gold glove firstbaseman and can hit for a solid average.

As an A's fan, im estatic, yea the Angels got Texeira, but they gave up a player that as an A's fan i have always thought to be something really good in his future.  Texiera wont stay an Angels forever and now KOtchman is gone. Yes!

  4. They did the right thing, he was going to walk and they're not going anywhere this year.

  5. I'm pleased in I'm a Braves fan. Not so much LA. Yes they get a good 1st basbman scratch that a great but he's a UFA at season's end and Kotchman's too much for a rental player I think

  6. Kotchman's a crazygood glove with 25, 100, .290 potential -- in the AL that wouldn't cut it, but it barely does in the NL.  Tex woulda been big $$, and Kotchman might be eventually -- so we go with what we know.  Now that I look at it, it's not as bad a deal as I thought at first . . . but we still didn't stabilize the bullpen.

AND, my friend rickjames there, has a valid point . . .

  7. I wish the Braves would have ponied up the dough and just paid him. But I guess it's okay. It's a downgrade in my opinion. They have zero power now in the lineup. I wouldn't rely on a oldie like Chipper who's days are numbered. Francoeur, who knows if he will turn things around. Next year we are looking at Jurrjens(a great #2 starter) and then a LOT of question marks. Hampton is a FA, Huddy may not be ready next year depending on injury, Glavine may retire, Smoltz probably won't be back from his injury next year. Doesn't seem like the corporate ownership wants a winning team. I can't wait for the day a real owner steps up and turns this franchise into the franchise it once was with Ted.

  8. If we would have kept Salty, we could have trained him to play first and still be sitting pretty with all of our propects.

  9. when u put it that way its pretty good for the braves

although i do think teixeira is worth a lot more

im happy about it cause im a marlins fan

  10. You  should be pleased, you most likely wouldn't  have kept him next year anyway, and Kotchman isn't that bad of a player.

  11. i still think it was a waste getting him for prospects, teixeria really got the braves nowhere

  12. Can't complain. The Braves are building towards the future, while the Angels want to win now. The Braves will be mighty smart in 2-3 years.

  13. Kotch is a grinder, just a tough, tough kid.....yer gonna like him.

  14. It looks like a "Win, Win" for both teams.  The Angels have to be the odds on favorites in the American League at this point so for the short term they made a good deal.

As for the Braves, this trade will put them right back in the NL East hunt, if not this season, certainly next year and several years to come.  I like the trade.
