Now I went to the hospital on Friday and they hooked me up on the monitors and they saw that I was having contractions now can braxton hicks contractions come up on the monitor and they also checked to make sure that I wasnt dialted . This is my thirrd pregnancy and I dont remember having this for my other two. So could this be a normal thing for me from now until I give birth did anyone have this issue? I been trying to call my doctors and they dont pick up and I even called them last night because I felt them again and noone returned my call.

  1. it is normal i had braxton hicks for almost 2 weeks before i went into labour i even went to the hospital becuase the first time i got these i thought i actually went into labour and the nurse sent me home i wasnt in real labour she said just relax and the baby will come when ready

  2. Braxton Hicks, or false labor contractions are a very normal part of labor and delivery. Your body is going through its warm up to delivery, getting everything all set for the little ones' arrival. Your hips are slowly moving out of socket to prepare for the arrival of the little ones' head. your uterus is effacing, or getting thinner and  the opening to the uterus is getting wider. Whether or not you remember them you most definitely did have them, sometimes they might be felt in the lower back, or in your buttocks, or even in the bladder area. Keep a record of them, when they are10 minutes apart, you are in labor, unless your water breaks first, then you definitely want to get to the hospital as soon as the water breaks to avoid a hard, dry birth.Have you lost your mucus plug yet? most people usually go into full labor within hours of losing their plug, I went 2 hours after. Congratulations on the little one, relax, stress elevates your blood pressure, which affects your little ones' oxygen levels and the heart beat of your baby is compromised with a lot of stress. Do not forget your breathing exercises, and keep your mind at ease. Hope that this helps.

  3. it's extremely normal, i'm 28 weeks, and i get them pretty regularly. and yes, they can show up on a fetal monitor, i had to go to the ER for it too. and, they just gave me IV fluids and told me i was dehydrated. so, drink plenty of liquids, and change positions, like from sitting up in a chair to laying down, and if they don't stop eventually, or get painful and unvearable, then call your DR. hope i helped. :]

  4. every pregnancy is different. i had them. i read somewhere that they are described like this: push on the tip of your nose... now push on your for head... okay, your nose is like a braxton hicks and your forhea is hopw a real one feals.
