Question:

Braxton Hicks? Has anyone experienced this?

I am 39 weeks. It starts in the chest... feels like it is tightening, gets a little hard to breathe. Then the contraction moves to my stomach and my stomach gets hard. And it is almost as if it is all followed with my face getting hot. Perhaps a hot flash? Has anyone ever felt this? Please let me know.

  1. is ur stomach hurting? if so u may be in the beginning stages of labor. maybe if ur really worried it would be good 2 call ur doctor and tell him or her and they may advise u to either go in to the hospital and they will check if u are dialating. good luck

  2. I have but they usually aren't that strong.  Sounds more like you are starting to really contract.  Sometimes it can take a while even a week or so to have real labor and stronger contractions.  If you get really crampy down in your HOO HOO like you are on the rag, it's a real contraction and real labor.  Have fun!  56 hours of labor with 1st girl and 30 plus a c-cection with the second one.  Ouch!!  Feels great when it's over though, a great feeling!

  3. Hmm sounds like those may be the real thing!  YAY!  Real ones dont have to be very painful at first.. that part will surely come.  They usually just start off as more intense like yours sound.

Just kee track of them, if they get closer there may be a baby within the next few days!  GL Congrats!

But sounds like you will know for sure tomorrow! :)

  4. its hard for me to breathe when i get BHC.. i told my dr about it... she said its anxiety... i don't think she knows what shes talking quick breaths helps me... i also get a little dizzy.. wow.. i really don't know how I'm going to handle the real thing.. =(

  5. because you are 39 weeks I would say it is probably real labor contractions starting just make sure that you time them and when they are less than 10 minutes apart, getting stronger and closer together go to your labor and delivery.  don't get your hopes up could be a while.  sorry for got to answer your last question.  yes I have felt what you are describing.

  6. you might be starting labor, real contractions can tend to feel like your torso/uterus is a tube of toothpaste and is being squeezed out.
